Tagged
I was tagged by Stefani this week, and by Melissa way back in early Feb., so here we go:
Four jobs I've had:
- Cashier at Herman's Sporting Goods (anybody out there still remember them?)
- Trainer for CompuGraphic, which made typesetting systems before the days of WYSIWYG (boy do I feel old now!)
- Office manager for a graphics/typesetting studio (hi Joanie!). This was the most fun job ever!
- Editor of an employee magazine for 65,000 people
Four movies I can watch over and over:
- The Goodbye Girl (the original with Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason ... for which Richard won an Oscar that year, I might add ... not the horrible TV remake from 2004 with Patricia Heaton and Jeff Daniels)
- When Harry Met Sally
- Good Will Hunting
- The Never-Ending Story (the original, from 1984 ... not the sequels)
I really need to get out more ... whaddya think?
Four places I've lived:
- Gijรณn, Spain (on the northern coast)
- Tarrytown, NY
- Bensalem, Pa.
- Glassboro, NJ
- That's Clever! (formerly Crafters Coast to Coast)
- Divine Design with Candice Olson (right, who reminds me of my friend Ingrid, only with blond hair)
- Property Ladder (a new addiction ... a show about flipping houses on The Learning Channel ... oy, some of these people are clueless!)
- The Abrams Report (John and I watch this almost every night)
Four places I've vacationed:
- St. John, US Virgin Islands
- Cape Cod, Mass.
- Cozumel, Mexico
- Del Mar/San Diego, Calif.
- Broiled lobster tail
- Pizza with a crispy crust ( ... don't even care what's on top)
- Dragon rolls
- Thanksgiving dinner
- Mandarin grilled chicken salad at Houlihan's (without the onions)
- Chicken Scaloppine at Macaroni Grill
- Heavenly Hash ice cream (but I'll take Rocky Road in a pinch ... or Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ... and Old Philadelphia brand had a pineapple ice cream that was to die for!)
ok ... I'd better stop now.
Four sites I visit daily:
- The Hunger Site ( ... and yes, I feel extremely guilty now after that last food orgy)
- Cute Overload (I can just give up sugar now that I've found this)
- Kat's Paws
- Swirly Girl
... and at least 20 other blogs listed in the sidebar.
Four places I'd rather be right now:
- Strolling around New Hope, Pa.
- Lying in a hammock between two trees on a summer day ( ... memories of the hammocks at Omega come to mind), going back and forth between reading a good book and napping.
- Browsing in a bead store or fabric store or craft-supply store or bookstore.
- Spending a long weekend with John at L'Auberge Del Mar in Del Mar, Calif.
Four bloggers I'm tagging:
- Lisa
- Deb
- Kerstin
- Anyone else who wants to play along ... leave a link in the comments if you do so we can come over and see it!

Agreed--that "Goodbye Girl" remake SUCKED. (And I, too, have seen the original many times.) :)

I'm so excited to be tagged. I often read these meme's and think they look like fun ... what a hoot to get tagged. Thanks dollface!
I don't know if 'When Harry Met Sally' would be in my top 4, but it's pretty high up there on the list for me too. I often quote it ... my favorite being: "You're right, you're right, of course you're right; he's never going to leave her." There was just something so right ON about that refrain that Marie (carrie fisher) would run through around the truth that she didn't want to see, and I use on myself when I want to change something that I can't seem to rally myself to do yet ... somehow figuring that just reminding myself that the truth is the truth is the truth I might eventually come around. ("he and his wife just spent sixteen hundred dollars on a dining room table ... he's never going to leave her...")

Herman's was next to The American Eagle Outfitter's that I worked at in High School, but back then they sold clothes for skiing and surfing and it was not the cool place to work. The mall was about 20 mins. from my house...far for me, but I was working at a bagel place and I thought the mall would be so much cooler. My Dad drove me to the mall and said if I could find a job that afternoon I could quit the bagel store. So I applied everywhere and the first place that said yes I worked at! This is funny because later on I worked for Gap, Inc. for 13 years, part of the time as a recruiter and trainer. I would teach these interviewing classes telling managers they should ask why the applicant wanted to work for our company...I would always think about myself...I would not have hired me saying..."because I need a job" This story ended up being a bit long! Hope you are well. I am going to NY next week, but for a short visit to see my Mom. Next long visit I will tell you in advance and hopefully we can meet up!

I love getting tagged, thanks Maria! I am addicted to all the home design and property shows, it is interesting to see the ones over here as opposed to the UK ones that I've been watching for the last year or so. Mind you, bad taste is a universal thing, and good design makes sense, and creates beauty, anywhere, doesn't it?
